چکیده
Introduction: The ethanol extract of the jamblang fruit seed (Syzygium cumini L.) is known to have an antidiabetic effect and this further confirmed by high intensity its α-amylase inhibitory effect. Aim: purpose study was determine activity in reducing blood sugar levels. Method: Phytochemical screening carried out on from seeds. Twenty-eight male wistar rats were given alloxan induce diabetes. divided into four groups: normal control, negative control (CMC-Na), positive (Glibenclamide), a group that Measurement glucose levels day 0 15. Results: phytochemical results show ethanolic seeds contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, polyphenols, as well steroids triterpenoids. being treated with showed decreased 15, indicating effectiveness extract. Conclusion: Ethanol cumini) steroids, triterpenoids; able reduce induced alloxan.
